I wear a wet suit that is covered in pictures of Hillary Clinton. It scares the sharks and other sea life away. It even caused a large coral reef to move away at a surprizing speed.

For somebody swimming on the surface, the colors or pattern of the wetsuit will be irrelevant, because a shark seeing you from below will just see a dark silhouette.

Divers rarely get attackes other than when spearfishing.
Surfers and swimmers OTOH, splash about on the surface and look like seals and sea lions. Dunno about this attempt at making them look a bit less like a black seal.
Sharks, especially great whites, attack from beneath and go for the silhouette, so who knows if these wetsuits will do much for the underneath view.
After all, sharks bite surfboards all the time, and they are not painted black.
