The series “Lexx” had a woman Pope. It was only one episode. She became Pope because the college of cardinals were so divided on choosing a new Pope, they agreed to pick the first person from a random page of the first phone book they came to. Ended up being a female Florida realtor/cannibal played by Ellen Dubin. She also had a small role in “Napoleon Dynamite.”

Just because I’m a tiresome trivia drone, I will inform everyone that, according to Canon Law, the office of Pope is open only to a baptized Catholic man. Thus, they could choose a random lay man, but not a non-Catholic or a woman.

I’m sure the rules will be changed to allow a muslim to hold the job...

Already did that! Our computers are in the dining room. I have a desk in the living room facing into the dining room and kitchen. I can see in all directions at once. No sneaking past me! Unless I’m preoccupied on FR. Ha! Any computer work that needs to be done will have to wait until after lunch when we come back to the house. I honestly don’t know what else to do without being labeled the cruelest homeschool mom ever.

I’d go for candlelight and quill pens at this point.

LOL! I’m thinking a one room school house wouldn’t be such a bad idea. I do like white boards more than chalk boards though.

Torchwood is the adult version of Dr Who. Here, the BBC showed it at 10pm.

Well, it was the adult version of Dr Who. It was a post-watershed programme. BTW, if you could get past the sex, you’d have enjoyed a very good programme.

I would hate the slutty characters too much to be able to see the “good” program

Peter Capaldi would be a great choice.

Superb actor and older with gravitas.
