The year was 1968. I was working for WLKY-TV, the ABC affiliate (now CBS) in Louisville, KY.

Diane Sawyer, from a very rich and famous family in Louisville, was the TV “Weather Girl.”

She would come to work wearing flip-flops and a sundress and not much else.

She’d pull the weather info from the AP teleprinter and use that to do the weather forecast.

She did not appear to be even a little brighter than most. Good looks, and she was a looker, for sure, and a rich, famous family is what she had going for her.

Yet four decades later that anchor down in Huntsville gets fired for working without a bra.
