I’m sure a BB gun would take care of ‘em..........mine works with the area ground squirrels, so I’m assuming would work on rats.

“Rats are dirty. They’re disgusting.” he said. “The final straw was when they began sending photos of their genitals to one another.”

Allow selling rats as food in NYC. Just think of food vendors selling roasted rat on a stick or curried rat.

So you're certain that's not happening now???

Find 5 good ol’ American boys, hand them each a $100 air rifle and 1000 pellets, and turn them loose. Problem solved.

We’d have KILLED to have such a ready-made shooting gallery when we were kids.

Instead, I guess those boys will be going to Camp Twink.

Kill the rats and tell the new rich people its a fad food from Europe.
Soon Rats will be on the endangered list.

"As long as there is no salt, butter, trans fats or 32 oz. sodas in the vicinity, everything should be good to go."

Maybe add coconut butter to that list?

Did Napoleon Bloomberg outlaw that also?

I would suggest cats but they would just get fat and move to Central Park with the rest of their kind.

The reason the rats are there is because people are being slobs and not taking proper care of their garbage. That area is largely Hispanic, with a large dose of Muzzies as well. The park, barely a speck of green in the midst of a concrete jungle, is right next to an overhead subway line, with all the trash discarded by subway riders. Across the street are several restaurants, with overflowing dumpsters in the back. Lots of rat food! Also, the City is very negligent about emptying trash receptacles on City streets. Many are overflowing, making a rat buffet.

Instead of using poisons, to which rats can become less susceptible and from which raptors can die from eating poisoned rats, why not use hawks as a natural rat control? Bring in area falconers with their hawks. The rat problem would be addressed without poisons or bullets in the City. The many pairs of redtailed hawks now residing in the city eat scores of rats. Rats, along with pigeons and squirrels, actually seem to comprise most of their diet.

No. I think coconut oil was banned earlier.

Cats would do the trick, too. Even more fun, issue pellet guns to all the local kids and send them out to hunt.
