As kids, we spent Saturday mornings at the town dump popping rats with our .22s. No one batted an eye, we had fun and the rat problem was contained. If kids did this now armored SWAT vehicles and black helicopters would respond.

***offer a $5 bounty on each rat*** They tried this back in the early 1960s and it was a failure. They wanted the city to trap the rats. Rat catching was too much labor.
