Furthermore, Republicans, if they are to be viable nationally, and I don’t think they will, need to stand FOR something. I have moderate friends and we all agree, when you elect a Republican, you just don’t know what you’re going to get.

With a Democrat, you know what they stand for, even if it sucks.

Sessions is absolutely right, talk of amnesty is far from compassionate, its elitist in the worst sense.

The right side of the field is wide open, yet the idiots in the GOP prefer to run the ball straight at the democrat's strong side.

I was recently asked to write a letter of recommendation for a young man who had entered the US on a student visa, completed his PhD (in my technical field), and wanted a green card. I was appalled at the hoops he had to jump through to get his green card. He's the kind of immigrant we want, yet he had to hire an immigration lawyer, get recommendations, and sweat out a hearing.

By contrast, those clowns in Washington want to grant citizenship to people who sneaked across the border and will become welfare leeches. Kafka himself couldn't have written anything more absurd.

He’s almost correct, the fact is we don’t need any bill, so the house should stop working on a damned immigration bill and concentrate on forcing the feds to enforce the laws we have in effect now. Our immigration laws are good, we just need to enforce them. We certainly don’t need amnesty. Any house bill will be transformed when it hits the senate and we will wind up with amnesty.
