A reporter at a Huntsville television station has been fired for what she said was a humorous look at her job on her personal blog.
Shea Allen, a special investigations reporter at WAAY-TV Channel 31, told The Huntsville Times/al.com today that the blog post - in which, among other things, she claimed to have "gone bra-less" during on-air appearances - has drawn national attention.

May as well post her picture.
So....NOT GUILTY!!!
In keeping with the “rules”. Thanks.
This is a problem why ??
As an arbiter of work place disputes, I need to be there when she works braless and physically check this out. I, ahem, work many jobs for free.
I can understand her bosses not being happy with her napping on company time but I think firing her was probably a little extreme.
I find sum ting wong about this story!
Does not rise to the level of the Youngstown, Ohio anchorette who took a Florida vacation, got rip-snorting drunk, entered a wet t-shirt contest which had her eventually stripping down to her panties, which ended up in one of those Girls Gone Wild videos.
She was also fired. Yet today she works in Cleveland, a much larger market. I suspect that is what awaits Miss Allen as well.
Doesn't seem to match that claim of:
"I do not want to be a joke," Allen said.
I suspect she will be part of a lot of jokes from this point.
From her blog:
I’m frightened of old people and I refuse to do stories involving them or the places they reside.
and
If you ramble and I deem you unnecessary for my story, I’ll stop recording but let you think otherwise.
probably got her into trouble as much as anything else. As a reporter, she needs to understand that she has a 24/7 job. In the same way that teachers really never are out of the spotlight, the public has certain expectations of reporters. Fair? Maybe not, but that’s the rules of the game, and if you want to play, you stick to them.
Number six isn’t good...some of the few remaining viewers of local tv news are old people.
Another victim of the long-lost American sense of humor?
Don’t watch Channel 31 News. They seem rather Bush League to me.
IMO that list is more damaging than whether she may or may not have worn a bra.
Indicates a severe lack of mental and emotional stability.
And a need to share that mess with others. Not someone interested in having a business wants to keep on staff.
Some one should keep that list and show it to her in 40~50 years.
Not Guilty!
Second thread I’ve read this morning that touches on a woman’s breasts.
May we hope for more on this lovely topic?
;^)
“I believe that as a journalist, I should be a watchdog. I should be a protector of people’s rights. I never got into this to be the pretty girl on TV. I got into this because...I felt like I was making a difference...I fight for people’s rights to have freedom of expression. That’s supposed to be what a journalist does. “
Another Crusader Rabbit Journalist. A cute one, but it wouldn’t be prudent to believe anything she says on TV.
