Have they isolated for variables in a double blind study? My guess is that its a coincidental finding. Smarter people generally have smarter children. Breast feeding is what we have been told is best (no argument here) and more smart people do it than dumb people.
I would also guess that people who have started a successful business have higher IQs, but giving someone a successful business isn’t going to make them smarter.
Does the practice have any benefits if applied during adulthood?
Such bs...Just another “breasfeed or else”...live with the consequences
Why is breast milk better than formula? Three reasons:
1. It’s always fresh.
2. The cats can’t get at it.
3. It comes in such a cute little container.
Yeh...now lets go to the jungles where everyone breasfeeds until the kid has choppers. And their IQ is what??
I don’t believe this.
This has been known for a long time. But good to know that the findings are repeatable.
Than the third world should be full of geniuses if this were true.
It’s funny how, later in life, the sight of a nice set of nourishing breasts tend to make men stupid.
How did "old" children do in this study?
Duh...Boobies
This has so many political ramifications. The “Formula Lobby” is a powerful one — on a global scale, and feminism loves the freedom accorded new mothers by Formula Feeding
“My Mom never breastfed me, she told me that she liked me as a friend.” - Rodney Dangerfield.
I nursed three children. My kids all have very high IQs. I do believe the nutrition is better and that does help brain chemistry. There are so many factors to a high IQ, but let’s be honest, most of it is genetic.
Tribal people still can’t build indoor plumbing or organize a civil society, and they are fed from the breast.
I don’t know about IQ, but the savings is incredible! Baby number three will be here in a couple of weeks, and so begins another year of that adventure. I’m trying to convert our formula savings from three kids into diamond earrings. Hubby isn’t exactly falling for it.
All these “studies” are to be taken with a lot of skepticism. Correlations are not necessarily causality.
Well it’s proof that liberals/progressives have never been breastfed.
Hmmm, I call BS.. I was never breast fed.. and last time I took the stupid test, I got 136...
