Don't you feel sorry for him?

HA!
Wait until he gets his Carbon Tax from Obama!!!!
Figure the costs of running the team, and that’s not much of a purse. Clearly, the sponsor money pays for most of that, though.
The race Sunday had an usually high number of empty seats. Entire rows. I am wondering how much of that is because Indy is built for the Indy 500, with an extremely large seating capacity. I’d be interested in seeing attendance numbers by year for that race. Most races in recent years have had empty seats, but none like this one that I recall.
Drivers don’t get the full amount for a win. IIRC it’s in the neighborhood of 40%. That would mean the total for the win was about a million. That’s assuming the article actually got the number that Newman gets right and the 423K isn’t the total for the win.
After taxes, he will be able to buy TWO cups of coffee...
1. They all race the same car
2. the car is not stock, nothing on it is stock
3. If a manufacturer wins too often they do what has to be done to slow them down. Other manufacturers don’t have to search for more power they just slow down the fast cars.
4.Restricter plates.
5. Dale Earhart died.
What do you reckon the overhead of running NASCAR is?
I can't imagine prize money comes close to covering it, even if you are in the top 5. The serious money is in endorsements.
Fan base has declined and NASCAR quit reporting attendance. They have priced themselves out of the market just like baseball.
NASCAR is just one more indicator, that Barry can’t hide, that demonstrates his “great economy” really sucks.
My sister works at a popular National Monument. She said they have had a lot of foreign visitors this year but none of them are spending any money. They come, look and leave.
If they got rid of ‘The Chase’ it would help attendance.
Once “The Chase” hits, if anyone’s favorite driver didn’t make it they won’t sit in the stands - or buy merchandise, etc. and then a year goes by trying to get fans excited again.....until “The Chase” and then you start all over again.
Newman doesn’t get the full cut - these guys race on contract - whatever percentage that may be for each team. They should be thankful they don’t race in England :)
(1) Our country is in a depression, but ‘info-tainment’ has the ability to mask the economic crater.
(2) Our Constitution is above all, a peace treaty ... that is completely ignored by nationalizing socialist leaders who masquerade under various banners, yet they *are* fascists.
(3) Police officers are ignorant of the law and principles of the law and limitations of their authority by law; and many judges are now, too.
(4) The U.S. Military is promoting homosexuality.
(5) U.S. Government agents, agencies, and officials all claim now to have rights, but none have rights; indeed, only individual people and the States have rights; and government only has authority that is authorized to it, via legislative-made law that is produced by a duly-elected legislative body that sits as a result of the election process that is democratic-republican - *not* “a democracy.”
The United States of America is *not* a democracy, it is a democratic-republic.
These and many more problems and truths, weigh heavily on the minds of most people whom I know, are faithful, patriotic, determined to be free, Americans.
The fact that the U.S. Government is now - under the Obama Administration - hell bent on establishing itself as a quasi-totalitarian control center over all human action and rights -— displacing self-determination -— does not set well.
The problem *that* presents, makes the chatter about *”SPORTS!”* a waste of time, a distraction, and for some, near-total meaning-less-ness.
When there is work to be done, to survive and preserve liberty.
He’s never gonna be a team owner at this rate. Looks like
Nascar has cooked the goldarn goo$e and the drivers are getting feathers .. again.
So it finally leaked out into the press that Nascar attendance is down...
I think that 60” TVs and cheap beer have had a big impact on attendance
NASCAR went PC a number of years ago. They recently had a feature about a gay driver & how great it is to be “inclusive.” A good portion of the people on their shows are female & are only there because they are female. It is like someone forced them to become PC. Also every other sentence is about how great NASCAR is & the sentences in between refer to sponsors. I understand the economics of it all but it has become overbearing for me. I barely watch any more. Besides there is always a rerun of NCIS or Pass Time on.
Car of Tomorrow. “Green” fuels. NASCAR pandering to political correctness.
sarc Gee... I wonder why attendance is down? /sarc
