title was too long:
Do I have to excerpt something so short??
You probably remember KTVUs royal eff up with reading obviously fake Asian names for the pilots of the Asiana crash. Names like Wi To Lo and Ho Lee Fuk.
It looks like a Korean news agency is having some fun at KTVUs expense. After the landing gear failure of the Southwest flight at LGA they showed this graphic with American pilot names Captain Kent Parker Wright, Co-Captain Wyatt Wooden Workman.
They even went as far as making up fake names for people to interview. Flight instructor Heywood U. Flye-Moore and skeptical passenger Macy Lawyers.
Well played Korean TV, well played.
Punny and very stabbing at our legal culture. I expect the Koreans to be sued for it. :-)
Yes, but that could be almost anyone nowadays
The person who shared with me the original news broadcast with the names Ho Li Fuk et al, is Half CHINESE!
And she was RMAO!
Hmmmm...
It’s just not funny...
They can’t touch names like Wi To Lo and Ho Lee Fuk.
In China “Wen Ho Lee” is a name, in the ghetto its the time to find a new hook-up
I worked with an very educated and equally intelligent Japanese woman. One day she said the word, "X-Lay". I asked her if she knew the word was "X-Ray" and she said yes, that's what she said. I told her she was pronouncing the word incorrectly and she insisted she was not. Dumbfounded, I asked her to pronounce the word again and she said "X-Lay". OK, call me slow but it was only then that I realized she actually thought she was saying it correctly. I pronounced the word slowly for her "X-R-A-Y". She followed with "X-L-A-Y". In spite of her intelligence she apparently could not tell the difference. I asked her to pronounce my office manager's first name of Ryan. To my amazement, she said it correctly. I left the conversation completely confused and I remain that way today.
ROR.
If you don't like something someone said you can just post a pic of:
Yoo-Jae Suk
Three potatoes are standing on the corner.
How do you know which one is the prostitute?
The one who has a tag that says “IDAHO”.
Yes it is. They did well. Ha Ha. It's a clever, creative and appropriate poke the news people that broadcast the original stuff.
yep.
One Korean actress I like was Oh Yi-Na and another is Jung Yu-Mi, the name possibilities are endless when family names (first) range from Bang and Bong to Ma and Noh.
Uh...No..It didn’t even touch my funny bone....
But I give them a 2 on the honking hoot scale for trying.
You got company!
Passenger Hu Flung Dung thinks it’s hilarious.
China Town, San Francisco....
We witnessed a funeral procession through China Town. There was a parade with a large picture of a very old Asian Man. As we stood on the curb watching the solemn parade, my father commented, “He was so young.” We were confused. The man in the photo was very old. Then we saw what he saw... the guy’s name was... So Yung.
That was VERY funny. I am still embarrassed just thinking about the scene we made with the laughing fits that followed.
Well, Lee Hongki appreciates you for naming a scale after him.
Indeed.
No problem...He deserves it.
There was a Korean show where a 30-something woman who looked much younger took her younger sisters identity to get a dream job. The show was “Baby-Faced Beauty”... character name was ... Lee So-Young played by Jang Na-Ra
