What the heck is that, a giant slingshot, lol? Why would they need that, the Rio Grande is reduced to a muddy trickle from irrigation by this time of year.

You’d never know it, looking at how well they protect their Northern border. The only thing the provisional drug gang armies of Mexico are interested in protecting is their product and profits. Bribing and intimidating the government's army is just the cost of doing business.
