I can't say with certainty because I'd fallen out of her circle by that time, but my guess is that she got caught up in the idea at the time and got carried away with MJ. Infatuation with his public persona?

Dunno, but I can tell you that she wouldn't have gone that far with him, had she known about his dark side.

No doubt, MJ was also caught up with the idea, and was probably trying to be an honest man. I have a sense that it was his last attempt at being a normal human being.

I heard from an inside source several months into their marriage, that Lisa was profoundly unhappy. They split up not long after that.
