A man who was caught with a known prostitute in his car told police she was only there to show him where to buy tomatoes and the cash he gave her was to pay for them.
Muhammad Ikhlaq, 39, was arrested by police on suspicion of soliciting while driving through Walsall in his Nissan Micra.
However, when he was pulled over after stopping at a cash machine to withdraw £20, which he had given to the woman in the passengers seat, he claimed he was simply driving around looking for fruit.
PC Stacey Paterson, from Walsall police, said: Ive heard some excuses before but in the ten years that I have been a police officer I have never heard a kerb crawler covering up his crimes by claiming to be buying tomatoes.
Ikhlaq, of New Street, Dudley, was found guilty of soliciting on Wednesbury Road, Walsall.
He was fined £400 and ordered to pay £665 in costs by Walsall Magistrates Court.
Maybe a tooth or two?
That might be the exception, but it was designed to prevent government-to-government commerce interference (i.e. where one state would ban exports to or imports from another state over political differences).
I was approached by a prostitute once in a Home Depot parking lot, she had two fresh shiners. She first told me that she was a prostitute and secondly that her pimp and had beaten the crud out of her the night before and taken everything she had.. She asked straight up for $5 for a bus ride.
She had made a lot of bad decisions in her life, she was about 60, but she was being straight up. I talked to her breifly about some options she might have and then I gave her $10 for the bus and for something to eat.
According to the police, I guess I was guilty of suspicion of soliciting a prostitute.
So, when I gave a friend of mine $20, for the purpose of buying a pizza, you would claim I was guilty of soliciting a prostitute?
Per the article, the woman is a 'known prostitute'. Uhhh, what line of work is your 'friend' in?
It doesn't matter. According to GZ/TM prosecutors, if you "profile" it makes you a criminal. "Our betters" tell us that a person shall make no distinction between a sex worker and a nun.
There is only one conclusion from this. To stay legal you must avoid interaction with any woman who is alone, without her duenna. Interaction with a child is effectively illegal for at least a decade or two. Interaction between two men can be a crime since GZ/TM trial ("you shall not profile" and "if you see something or hear something, turn away and ignore.")
“I say ‘tomayto’, and you say ‘tomahto’ .... let’s go where I can get off.”
Brings a whole new meaning to, “want some tomatoes from my garden?”
" I think vegetables can be very sensuous, don't you?"
He’s been with the world
I’m tired of the soup do jour
He’s been with the world
I went to end this prophylactic tour
Afraid that no one around me
Understands my potato
Think I’m only a spudboy
Looking for a real tomato

Likely one that is not a girl at all. "She" isn't in it for the money.
I have lots of neighbors who I have friendly chats with when I walk my dog. I don't know what half of them do for a living. And of the other half who HAVE mentioned what they do for a living, I have never followed them to work to verify what they said.
Just because somebody is known to the police as being in prostitution, does not mean she does not have acquaintances who have no idea.
Who will buy
This wonderful morning?
Such a sky
You never did see!Who will tie
It up with a ribbon
And put it in a box for me?There'll never be a day so sunny,
It could not happen twice.
Where is the man with all the money?
It's cheap at half the price!
