I thought macerate was the swiftness of a crazed lunatic calming down after getting hit in the face with a squirt of mace....hmm, perhaps you are right though. I have seen it happen pretty dang fast right outside my ambulance. The guy kicked one of us (not me) and the spray hit his face within seconds. Amazing job by the cop. Nasty spitting mess all the way to the ER though.
