A few solutions to this problem. Oh, wait, it was in CA. Might want to reconsider the one one bottom.

Been an interesting thread. Our familys had this ranch for over 100 years and theres always been one standing order to the hands “all yotes get shot”. No cowboys anymore but myself, the pumpers and the hands all carry rifles in our pickups. I don’t know how many they’ve shot but I’ve taken over 200 in the last 5 years. The little striped bandits don’t get a pass either, if we spot a coon it’s gone. Coons will wipe out a quail or a turkey nest every chance it gets. We take our hunting very serious so predator control is a must. The only ones I put no shoot orders on are our bobcats. They do a great job keeping the rodents down plus I just like to see them.

Coyotes near people should be killed by people. Coyotes out in the wild should be killed by wolves. There’s just no place for coyotes.

My suburban neighborhood (Clearwater, FL area) has lost quite a few cats to coyotes. Or alligators.

Coyotes that are used to people. Not good.

I wonder is some in that suburban neighborhood see coyotes as "doggies" and feed them.
