Where in the United States would you consider yourself the safest? Someplace where there were no hurricanes, no floods, no eathquakes, no tornados, no major blizzards, no black or Hispanic gangs, no black flash mobs, low chance of becoming a murder statistic, no muslim terrorists, insignificant traffic accidents, hidden from government murderers, relatively low chance of coming in contact with deadly bacterial or viral diseases,.......etc. What would be your choice? Is there such a place still left in the US? I'll give you mine later.
At the bottom of an abandoned missile shaft in the Dakotas. That said, I focus on happiness as opposed to safety. It is a good time to be old.
....... and not bordering National Park Service land.
Why?
The US territory on Antarctica would be free of hurricanes, black and Hispanic gangs, the dreaded significant traffic accident and bad spelling.

I read some article detailing the best place for survivalist/preppers in the USA.
They came up with the answer of western NC, and areas in Tennessee, Kentucky. Reasons, water supply, inland away from Hurricanes, relatively low crime and low population, etc. All pretty reasonable choices.
I personally think that the pacific northwest and Idaho would probably the safest places all things considered.
I live in Texas. I like our chances too. We do have a problem with water, and potential criminals fleeing from large cities, etc.. However, most of us are well-armed and that will go a long ways to creating our own safe areas should s SHTF disaster occur.
Is locationi like a plural or sumpthin?
We have blizzards, tornadoes, high winds, sometimes for-real cold, wildfires and so on.
It tends to keep the riff-raff out of here.
I’ve found the perfect SHTF hide-away. It’s right outside of . . . oh crap! You almost tricked me into giving it away.
They’re getting a little extra-territorial. Several examples of attempts to drive private landholders out so the park service can take it over. Then there are the occasional illegal activities on minimally policed park service land, marijuana growing, that sort of thing. Sharing a border can become an issue.
We have summer temperatures of over 110F. It tends to keep the riff-raff out of here—the relatives, too—although there is a certain amount of over-lap between the two groups.
Safest locationi? Might that be in Little Italy?
idaho then n&s dakota
Well played!
I agree. I want my home to be the LCF for Oscar flight.
Not Idaho. It isn't safe here. In my neighborhood there's this deranged right-wing gun nut with a basement full of ammunition and bookshelves full of subversive material like the Federalist Papers, who wears camo and posts on extremist websites. But enough about me.
Awful purty up here at the lake today - high 80's with a little breeze. Gonna take off my shirt when I mow the lawn later so I can blind the drones that follow me everywhere. The airline pilots are gonna have to wear their dang sunglasses. I warned 'em.
As far as safety, I can take it or leave it. My Kimber has a safety, but my Smith & Wesson doesn't.
Good points. But some places that border those areas can be very good places to be.
Good point, and appreciated, as I was a geography/geology major.
There have been reports for years that illegals (and I’m sure US citizens) have set up marijuana farms in national parks and will shoot if you get too close.
