The Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con ended with writer-director Joss Whedon taking the stage at Hall H to announce the official title of Marvel's The Avengers 2, which is ... Avengers: Age of Ultron!
You may know that "Age of Ultron" is a relatively recent Marvel Comics storyline so it'll be interesting to see how much they cull from that for the big screen sequel to the 2012 blockbuster.
Here is the official title treatment courtesy of Marvel and Disney:
Actually, I almost never go to the theater to see films myself. The only one I saw in the last couple of years (at the theater) was, in fact, "The Avengers"...which I thoroughly enjoyed.
If Hollywood continues to produce this kind of dreck, we will continue to stay away.
Why do you consider anything escapist in nature "dreck"? While I enjoy a nice drama as much as the next guy, I also enjoy films with science fiction or fantasy elements. This would include some of the most enjoyable films I've ever seen...Star Trek II, The Fellowship of the Ring, Aliens, The Ten Commandments, and Raiders of the Lost Ark come to mind just off the top of my head.
Quite possibly the best Superman story ever written.
Still makes me tear up to this day.
Can not wait for the 2nd one, 2015 shaping up to be a great year for movies. Please Hollywood do not screw any of the BIG ones up.
All this “trend” is is a medium growing up. There was a generation of kids that read comics and got into the industry but instead of writing for kids wrote for themselves. They’ve written some amazing stuff along the way:

Comics aren’t just for kids anymore, in fact of a lot of it very much not for kids. Time for you to update your knowledge.
Actually you’ve got the infantilism down pat. Few things in this world are more infantile than needing to push others down to feel like you’re going up.
My point is ALL the stories are imaginary whether read or viewed on the silver screen.
Even biographies are influenced by their author’s prejudices.
Um...seems that “Avengers 2 trailer” is just a mash up of clips from existing movies.
Yeah, it’s just a fan trailer...the only official image released thus far is the graphic I included in the original post (as far as I know, anyway).
