You’ve seen those carnival guys who are in charge of setting up those rides. Yeah, I don’t ride them either.

Betting it has nothing to do with the actual coaster.

More likely she did something stupid om the load platform, or walking the emergency egress path along the track if the ride was stopped in a break zone because of some problem.

If it was catastrophic, there would be more than on person involved.

The media hypes stuff like this all of the time, the ride is safe.

My Best GF’s family owned this Roller coaster back in the 60’s. We would go on it for free, a dozen times in a row, and when we finally disembarked, we threw up all over the very boys we were trying to impress with our amazing coolness.

There's no reason to fall out of a roller coaster ride unless you tried to pull yourself up out of the seat. Perhaps this was an inventive suicide.

Or perhaps it was one of those famed Dallas strippers with the 54-DDDD cups that was simply too top-heavy and gravity took over.

From twitter:

her safety seat came undone on the way down and knocked her unconscious and on the turn she flew off while her kid saw

Reading some of the theme park/roller coaster enthusiast websites, reports seem to indicate that the woman was large and did not fit into the restraints properly.

Awesome ... probably explains their good safety record! The Travel Channel has been running a series about the World’s Greatest Roller Coasters where the riders voted after the ride — last I saw, I think one in Japan was in the lead. But the big ones look like SO much fun!!!!

Big Tex caught on fire last year. Understand they are going to rebuild him but not in the same style. His presence at the Texas State Fair is such a long awesome tradition. Wish they would just rebuild him exactly like he was but that seems to be too much to ask in this day and age. Just won’t leave anything along.

Wild Thing up here at Valley Fair boasts a 200’ first drop.

Super neat view from the top for about 3 seconds... Takes your breath away pulling G’s at the bottom.

No where near the tallest coaster though.

Exactly. We went inside the actual control room which controls ever roller coaster from Transformers etc, and it has more people monitoring the safety performance of the rides during each ride cycle more than theme park security LOL.

If you had to guess, how many cameras would you say there are per ride (the big ones)? Just curious.

The whole idea of the thrill of a roller coaster is that you are pitting yourself against this dangerous feat.

When people do that I’m amazed they think that the thing they are on is infallible.

Nothing is infallible. So, place your bet against your life, it’s so much fun? Betting the farm and figuring you’ll always come out ahead.

But...not always.

Sad. But no machine is 100% error-proof. In all things of Life, one must take responsibility for the risks one takes.

I read that she knew something was wrong with her restraint and they told her if it clicked it was ok. It was supposed to click 3 times and hers only clicked once. The employees at these places are just kids. I never feel like the restraints are actually checked. They are just trying to hurry to get the ride going. I’m petrified of roller coasters for this very reason.

Around 15 which is average, but the main concern are the sensors which dot every ride so I learned, plus the safety locks which ensures the passenger is safely secured. Believe me, if one of the latches is not secured, they will tell the ride guys. Knotts for example, has one every 10 feet.

Watch how these guys keep coming out of their seats. It sounds like the ride attendant dismissed her concerns and was negligent in being nonchalant and not checking it out thoroughly when she expressed concern.
