ARLINGTON - Six Flags has confirmed an adult woman died while riding the Texas Giant Friday night.
More details to come.
Picture:
IIRC that was filmed on “Colossus” at the 6 Flags just a little north of L.A.
Me, too. We work for Universal on movie production occasions and we ride the park roller coasters for free. My bud works for their theme park roller coaster staff and the entire staff isn’t run by some 2-bit rinky dink carney’ “mechanic”.
No one at their roller coaster staff has anything less than an engineering major from a top reputable school and no one is allowed to touch the machines that run them for at least 1 year as a safety precaution. Everyone starts from design and schematics.
As we were heading up the first incline, my sister's friend Jessica commented that she was glad that the ride had the safety bars that came down over the shoulders and pushed on hers...and it came loose. We were at the top of the ramp, so there wasn't any way she could get off, so my sister grabbed her from the side and my friend and I grabbed her from behind and held on all the way through the first set of barrel rolls. As we headed up the second incline, we managed to lock the safety bar down for the second run through the rolls.
That was twenty years ago, and I haven't ridden a roller coaster since.
Very bone jarring. Rode it less than 5 years after is was constructed and it rattled and tossed me around so badly I had a headache the rest of the day and my back hurt for a week.
When I was 13 my friends and I were at the city pool. A carney came over to the fence and hired us to help him assemble his big carnival ride. We were allowed to ride it for free that night but chose not to.
Six Flags has Muslim Days.
Effem.
According to an eye witness, the woman fainted during the ride, then fell out. Apparently the g-forces were too much for her. Very sad.
I came close to blacking out once on the Shockwave during one of the loops. Haven’t been on a major coaster since.
I rode it many times when I was younger....it is a great ride!
Iwent on thisroller coaster when I was 13, about 21 years ago. It was in August of 1992. It was hotter than hell, and the wait was almost 3 hours. Most of the line was in a huge barn. In that they were playing country music. I remember this one song came on , it was by Aaron Tipen “Aint Nothing Wrong With thw Radio”. It waa thw only time I ever enjoyed the qait for the Roller Coaster than the ride.
Another part of the line had this big wooden wall, and it had gum with pennies on them. The set could be different now. I never went back.
with the restraints she shouldn’t have fell out even after fainting. I just rode this in December and the restraints are very tight. They must not have been working.
Sad. RIP.
Wow I would love to ride that!
I love wooden roller coasters, but I cannot do steel ones at all.
GRAVITY’S FAULT!
white gravity no doubt
