My RICE is blooming. When I saw the blooms at first I was like ‘...what kind of BUG is THAT!?’.

And they smell even more strongly of cooking jasmine rice.

It’s a learning year for me with this crop so if I get back my initial number of seeds I’ll be thrilled. Any more will be lagniappe.

And my fall bell peppers are growing nicely.

We’re up to low teens of number of pumpkins that have set so far. More and more female blooms all the time. I’ll take pictures tomorrow morning.

We just had a plant that had about 14 tomatoes on it. Very nice not yet a blush. Today they were all gone. No green pieces laying around that we could see. Hubby suspects 2 human varmits.

We are going to be pricing some motion sensor yard security type camera to try and see what’s going on.

I was able to verify that the damage to my sunflowers was not cut worms or 2 legged varmits, but slugs. Went out at midnight and found it. He’s dead. Will be putting out some containers of beer and spreading some DE about too.
