He was in the "wrong neighborhood" is just one reason a man gave as to why he was punched in the face. His wife and daughter were also hit.
Police arrested one man (Donald Dickerson) and ticketed two others. They are all accused of punching the family.

The owners of the gas station did not want to comment on camera, but said there's a wide variety of customers in and out of the store in the daytime. At night, though, it's not the safest of places, especially with the area having some of the highest crime in the city.
Cpl. Tommy Stubbs, spokesperson for the Baton Rouge Police Department, said a man wearing a pink shirt was in line trying to pay for gas when Donald Dickerson, 41, started making fun of him, leading to an argument.
"The defendant (Dickerson) approached the white male victim," the police report stated. It went on to read, "the defendant told him he was in the wrong neighborhood and he was not going to make it out." The victim said that's when he "was punched and knocked to the ground."
At this time, his wife got out of the car and ran to help her husband. The victim said, "he continued to struggle with the defendant and was eventually knocked unconscious, which later he awoke in the hospital." His wife told police, "after running to help her husband, she remembers falling to the ground and also being knocked unconscious."
According to a close family friend, that's when the couple's teenage daughter got out of the car to check on her parents and, "observed a female punch her mother in the face, when her mother then fell to the concrete, hitting her head on the surface." The daughter was also punched in the face.
"There were only three suspects but there were multiple people in the parking lot," said Stubbs.
Of those three, Dickerson was arrested and charged with second-degree battery. The other two suspects, Devin Bessye, 24, and Ashley Simmons, 22, were released on site after police wrote them each a summons for simple battery.
The victim suffered "a broken eye socket, broken nose, and several lacerations to the face," and his wife was knocked unconscious.
As to whether this falls under a hate crime, police said early reports show it does not meet the statute but remains under investigation.
Simple owenership of a gun by a law abiding citizen would have ended that madness.

The way I see it, this guy was just buying some candy (skittles perhaps) and drinksn(an Arizona ice tea possibly) for his family when Dickerson and his gang of neighborhood watchthugs racially profiled him and attacked him and his family.
Arm yourselves. We are all potential GZ’s. They are out to seriously hurt and in some cases kill us. It has begun. They want to complain that “poor” TM was profiled just because he was a black guy walking in mostly white neighborhood (BS) yet we all know that whites cannot walk into the territorial black people’s neighborhoods without being harrassed and sometimes beaten/killed. They have a lot of Frucking nerve!

2nd degree battery? 2nd degree when they threaten someone, and purposely start a fight causing multiple injuries? And others throwing punches and only cited for minor battery? Really?
Well, I for one ‘get it’. I completely ‘get’ what’s happening here even though my govt and law enforcement want to play dumb. I ‘get it’ that law enforcement and govt have chosen sides and have turned against honest, decent people to aid and abet some of the worst monsters among us.
And since I no longer can ever count on my govt or law enforcement to protect me and my family or bring justice when a crime has been committed against us.... guess what?
almost went off on a tangent. suffice to say, this case is extremely relevant to the Zimmerman case whether it has anything to do with it or not. Dickerson did everything that the black community falsely accuses Zimmerman of yet 99.999% of the country has never heard of him and the media still perpetuates this false narrative that some grave injustice was perpetrated against Martin while utterly ignoring this case which is an open and shut hate crime. The propaganda, it’s really getting bold. and old.

Look at the White Guy who was killed by four Feral Black Animals last week in Atlanta. When I went to the link and checked the Comments, there were Blacks saying “prove it’s a Hate Crime”. Why did the Thugs kill the White guy, he was with a Black Girl. No hint of a possible Hate Crime there huh?

According to Jacksonville Medical Examiner, Dr. Valerie Rao, those injuries were “insignificant” and “not life threatening”.
