The point is, they acted irresponsibly, all of the people in the car, every last one of them. Their deaths were inevitable, and you say poor mom and dad, suggesting that we should always feel for the parents. I say perhaps if mom and dad did a better job, none of this would have happened. Four teens, all drunk off their butts at some incredibly ridiculous rate of speed, on a very hilly 25mph road, not a tragedy. It was self induced death and damn fortunate they didn’t take an innocent person with them.

Actually what I said to start all of this off was that tragedy and inevitability are not mutually exclusive.

It was a tragic event for the parents (whose children, btw, are nothing like hitler and it is ridiculous for you to have made the absurd comparison).

You further compound the absurdity by blaming the parents, for not having done a good enough job raising their kids. Completely absurd, as you have no earthly idea how they were raised.

I am quite sure that a significant percentage of us, freepers extraordinaire, did some incredibly stupid things as kids and young adults, completely at odds with the way we were raised. I know I sure did. That is not the parent’s fault. And your blaming them (how else could you possibly mean “if mom and dad did a better job, none of this would have happened”) demonstrates a deeply flawed view of parenting.

For the record, I have 3 kids (21, 28 and 30), so have a bit of experience in the matter.
