After Elisabeth Hasselbeck's exit last week and Joy Behar set to depart next month, Jenny McCarthy has officially been named the newest co-host on ABC's "The View." The actress/comedian/author/Autism activist has made 17 previous appearances on the show, including eight as a guest co-host.
Jenny brings us intelligence as well as warmth and humor, Walters said in a statement. She can be serious and outrageous. She has connected with our audience and offers a fresh point of view. Jenny will be a great addition to the show as we usher in an exciting new chapter for The View.
Im beyond thrilled I look forward to helping make hot topics a little bit hotter, and showing my mom that my interrupting skills have finally paid off, McCarthy added in a statement.
The 40-year-old former Playboy Playmate also thanked VH1 for allowing her to take the job, as she was under contract for her new late-night talk show, "The Jenny McCarthy Show," which has been fledgling in the ratings.

"Blended" families are the new desired norm. Except when they split up and you never hear from them again and you realize they were never family. But, why let reality interject with the left's mission to destroy the natural family?
chris - have to disagree. She may be the mayor of Whack-a-Doodle Junction, but she is easily one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen. I find her to be absolutely captivating. She could talk a minister into kicking in a stain glassed window.

We all have different eyes though.
That story is just sad - even though not biologically related, if that guy was a stepfather for 30 years and then just disappeared it is really sad.... but mccarthy was acting like douchy carey was the dad and I felt like she was just wanting to hurt him in the media (as if he couldn’t do that all by himself) and it really had nothing to do with her son.
