After Elisabeth Hasselbeck's exit last week and Joy Behar set to depart next month, Jenny McCarthy has officially been named the newest co-host on ABC's "The View." The actress/comedian/author/Autism activist has made 17 previous appearances on the show, including eight as a guest co-host.
“Jenny brings us intelligence as well as warmth and humor,” Walters said in a statement. “She can be serious and outrageous. She has connected with our audience and offers a fresh point of view. Jenny will be a great addition to the show as we usher in an exciting new chapter for The View.”
“I’m beyond thrilled … I look forward to helping make hot topics a little bit hotter, and showing my mom that my interrupting skills have finally paid off,” McCarthy added in a statement.
The 40-year-old former Playboy Playmate also thanked VH1 for allowing her to take the job, as she was under contract for her new late-night talk show, "The Jenny McCarthy Show," which has been fledgling in the ratings.

So is McCarthy to be the sole voice of conservatism or have they decided that they only want the liberal POV on the show?
Is she at least semi-conservative? Or are they just adding a prettier member to the Harridan Chorus?
So they are replacing Hasselbeck’s squishy semi-Conservatism with flat-out moonbattery from Jim Carrey’s ex-squeeze?

As a young man I thought the “zaniness” of Jenny McCarthy was just an additional turn on to go with her attractiveness.
I grew up and unfortunately for her she hasn’t. She never lost the MTV schtick.
The “zaniness” when she was in her twenties and early 30’s has turned into creepiness of a high degree - her hosting duties at NYC New Years Eve this year were some of the most uncomfortable moments I’ve experienced watching tv in a long time.

I saw THE VIEW being broadcast in Australia when I was there 2 years ago. So was Judge Judy.
I never really had much of an opinion of her either way until she ranted about ex-boyfriend (the idiot jim carey) not visiting her son after they broke up. She acted like he was the Father of the boy and made it sound like he was abandoning his own son. I’m not saying you can’t care about someone else’s child but even a jackass like carey doesn’t owe her anything once they end a relationship.
In the looks department she beats the pants off of Whoopi & Baba Wawa.
Probably shares their goofy-tooth liberalism but who knows.
