I just had that experience on Facebook last night. A friend of my daughter’s was carrying on about the miscarriage of justice in this case. I tried to give her the facts of why he was acquitted, and she became hostile, making personal attacks and insults. My daughter got angry with me because I didn’t back down. I never did get personal, but she kept calling Trayvon a “child”, and when I kept pointing to the facts of why a 17 year old is not a “child”, she didn’t like it. I was definitely getting the better of her, factually speaking, and that’s why it became personal to her.
