Re-homing a dog is not always the easiest but it is AKCs preferred route. PETAs apparent lack of commitment to re-homing is hypocritical. No it isn't. PETA believes animals are better off in dignified death than alive and being "exploited" by humans.
To: Jean S
My question:
What do they do with the bodies? Are they selling them to scientific researchers? Dissection suppliers to schools? Korean restaurants?...............

What? And let them be exploited even in death?

No it isn't. PETA believes animals are better off in dignified death than alive and being "exploited" by humans.I remember some years ago reading an article about the woman who began PETA; and, in that article they told the reader straight out that this woman would pick up cats that she saw while walking to work, and she would kill them in her office. (I don't know what she did with the carcass.) This was the beginning of my distrust of "animal rights" organizations.
The people at PETA do not believe any animal should be kept as a pet; and, they do believe death is a better option. Now, my perfectly pampered corgi would disagree entirely. He is very fond of the food we serve at our table; from which he receives scraps.

“Re-Homing?” That’s brand spanking new to me.

WRKO’s Jeff Kuhner did a segment on this after his producer tried to get a Shelter Dog. He went to two shelters and the people there really don’t want you leaving with the animal. “Oh, you have kids”. “Oh, you and your wife both work”. “Oh, you don’t have a big enough back yard”. “Oh, you have relatives that have dogs that might not interact properly with this one”. Seriously, they wanted extended family and their pets to come to the shelter for interviews.

While most shelters strive for a 90% re-homing rate, PETA is apparently proud of their 99% killing rate and callously boasts that the animals it rescues are better off dead.
PETAphiles sound almost word for word like abortionists. And very Hitleresque to boot.

Exactly, PETA does not believe in PETS, how can an animal be your pet when PETA considers it to have the exact same rights as humans.

This is why it’s so ridiculous and outrageous when FReepers on animal threads ask animal lovers and advocates of animal welfare here if they support PETA. Clearly they are unfamiliar with the history and beliefs of the organization or they wouldn’t even ask. On the face of it it is absurd. Those who work in rescue and for the benefit of animals do NOT support PETA. They KNOW what they are and the two groups have nothing in common. Guess that’s news to some here, but it shouldn’t be. PETA’s been around a long time and they have done little to disguise what they are — but now they are getting some backlash. Kind of funny that the AKC is one of the groups scolding them, considering how they look the other way when it comes to “puppy mills”.

I knew someone who was the live-in “companion” of a sadistic, controlling b*sturd who was one of the uppermost elites in PETA for an extended period of time. He was keeping some dogs on his property that were from a rescue situation. She saw him grab one of the dogs by the foreleg so forcefully that he broke the dog’s leg. Later when the two of them were visiting the home of a friend of mine, he got annoyed by their little dog and kicked it so hard in the kidneys that it had blood in its urine afterward. The guy happened to be a medical doctor!
These PETA people are a collection of freaks and sociopaths. They don’t “love” animals, they just hate people.

This is actually off topic from PETA, but I don’t have a very high regard for “rescue” groups. Most seem high and mighty from what I’ve heard.
BTW, I have truly rescued a tiny kitten. It wasn’t through no adoption group.
I hate how we commandeer words and skew their meaning.

What do they do with the bodies?
That is the reason they were originally busted. They had a mobile killing van driving around Norfolk Va picking up peoples pets and any strays they found. They would kill them immediately and dump them in apartment and business dumpsters. Nothing much as changed with them. They were busted a couple decades ago, but the killing goes on.
A good link that tracks their obamanations is
Peta Kills Animals. The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is another front company for PETA (as are The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine PCRM). Watch the funny save a lawyer clip at the site. The HSUS confuses many with their slick adds syphoning money from local Humane Societies that do have no kill shelters.
These are a collection of sociopaths and truly evil people.
