I pledge allegiance to the Earth and all its sacred parts. Its water, land, and living things and all its human hearts. -Global Education Associates, The Earth Pledge
If you like your electricity, refrigeration, and air conditioning, you should pay careful attention. Most readers are by now familiar with Smart Meters that read electricity, gas, and water consumption from a remote location.
They are mandated and forced upon us by the United Nations Agenda 21 through its octopus arms of the EPA, the federal government, NGOs, and local and state governments in the name of saving the planet. The Utility Mother Ship can turn off your power during peak consumption, very hot or cold days, and adjust your thermostats and appliances from far away.

Do you understand why “they” would want to do that?
I understand fully why. The simple fact is, they should not have the authority to do so. Any attempt to do so, should be met with resistance and outright hostility.
Do you realize that the curtailing of water heaters would only need be done maybe 12 days a year (summer peak or winter peak)? No one at the electric utility wants to coerce you into taking a cold shower. It is a matter of not wasting resources. Electricity is very hard to store. It should be done on a voluntary basis by providing users with savings incentives.
Finally, you got my point. Voluntarily, without fear of reprisal/shut off. If I volunteer, great. If not, unless I fail to pay my bill, screw them. They should not have the ability to shut off my power for anything less than lack of payment on my part. We have energy problems in this country because of NIMBYs, watermelons, and government interference. Not because of lack of resources.
