The American public still wants G-rated family entertainment, even though it too has been corrupted with scatological “humor” (e.g., fart jokes). Not enough people who want to see a PG-13 mess with Johnny Drop mumbling his way through another idiotic portrayal. Clayton Moore & Jay Silverheels remain the definitive duo.

All Depp ever really had to offer was being a teeny-bopper heart throb. He actually had a pretty good run of it, from 21 Jump Street and Edward Scissorhands all the way through the Pirates of the Caribbean schtick, but there are new teeny boppers out there now to whom his name means virtually nothing.

I will give him credit for his performance in Donnie Brasco, which was a decent film.
