The NYY are pretty much screwed for the next couple years - too many horrid contracts on players that can’t play anymore.
I was listening to the radio this morning and the thought was the NYY would like to buy A-Roid out of his deal. Since they can’t void his contract (though I’d like to see then really attempt it), that’s the best thing they could do.
radio = WEEI or WBZ
may I suggest that you try NH or ME radio stations?
I think we should create a subforum on here for baseball talk ... mostly focused on trades involving the CUBS or CHISOX or former CUBS and CHISOX players.
Terry Doyle RHP, gets the start tonite for AA BoSox Portland Seadogs here in CT vs New Britain Rock Cats (Twins). Doyle, Boston College pitcher, is a former top starter for AAA ChiSox team in ‘12. He’s been a dud for the BoSox farm in ‘13.
BTW, Soriano under contract thru ‘14 at about 19 million in ‘14. Soriano: a nobody who may end up with 500 career HRs. He is at 389. Age 37. (I don’t think he makes it.)
That may work since it sounds like A-Rod wants to leave.
No chance Sory gets to 500 home runs, he’d have to stay productive for 4-5 more years. I just don’t see it.
Soriano in spacious LF at Yankee Stadium and batting cleanup.
Lillibridge bumped way down to 8th in the order ... soon on the bench when Jeter is back (on SAT?). Late game heroics may be over for Lillibridge ... now to be consigned to be merely a Yankee legend.
Can’t believe Cub-sters agreed to eat $17m of Soriano contract.
