If you haven’t seen it, “Broken Trail” is great, too. Duvall plays pretty much the same character...an older Gus McCrae. :)

I loved Broken Trail too, but Duvall’s character was too held-back to be Gus McCrae. McCrae would have kicked everybody’s ass on his own.
