Get Cuffed for Filming Police; Your Dog Gets Upset; Cop Kills Your Dog

Brian Doherty|Jul. 1, 2013 7:10 pm

Here's the way it is, America: annoy a cop, even doing something perfectly legal, and he might cuff you. And if your dog sees it and gets upset, he might kill your dog.

Latest example in this video uploaded to YouTube yesterday from Hawthorne, California of a man filming police on the street, when they then approach and cuff him.

Warning: if watching a dog die would upset you, don't watch. It looks to me like the cop was approaching the dog before the fatal moment more than the dog was attacking the cop:

Obviously multiple people were filming the police. Why weren’t they cuffed too? Why did they single out this guy? Was it the dog? Did they think he was pointing a gun instead of a cell phone? Was it because he got too close to the crime scene?

Totally unnecessary.

Didn’t the court rule a few days ago that it was perfectly legal to film cops?
The man was not doing anything illegal.
Also, I NEVER hear about letter carriers killing dogs; it’s only cops.

Cops are responsible for an engagement that was unnecessary and left their post of guarding those who were cuffed and curbed.

I feel sorry for the dog. He was just doing his job but, he was a big azz dog and the cops did show restraint right up till the lil feller jumped up at the one LEO.

I’m going to call good shoot but, it didn’t need to happen if the other two ego maniacs weren’t acting like JBT’s and irresponsibly going after a some dude who wasn’t doing a thing.

Cept filming yer jerk water azzes.

I hold the two morons responsible and a-holes like that shouldn’t be cops.

The dog owner was trying to provoke the police. Well, he succeeded, so I hope he’s happy with the result. I pity the poor dog.

Once upon a time I would stop and offer assistance to LEO’s. Anymore I keep on going and worse yet I don’t mourn when one gets killed in the line of duty.

I know that isn’t right but they are the ones who have brought this change in my respect and caring for them down upon themselves.

To all Mayors, City Managers and Police Chiefs: Sticking up for an officer who commits a criminal act makes you no better than the criminal. Don’t expect us citizens to back you up.

Well, as the cops-can-do-no-wrong crowd, a/k/a jackboot lickers take great pride in triumphing the cops must be worshiped and obeyed. Their authority should never be questioned and when a slave dares question that authority deserves what they get.

Great hypothetical that has no discernible meaning.

The cops were asses for cuffing him. The guy was an idiot for taunting the cops. The guy was an idiot for not making sure his dog was secured in the car. Lots of stupid people in this story. That said, if an aggressive Rottweiler is coming at me I shoot him

Let’s do another hypothetical. Let’s say there was a baby girl in between the dog and the cop. Should the cop have shot the dog in that scenario once he was sure he had a clear shot?

It is fun to play hypothetical.

Anyone ever figure out why the dogs owners was cuffed and arrested other than taking video of them?

The guy was an idiot for taunting the cops.

Did anyone figure out what crime the dog owner committed, which resulted in arrest?

The cops handcuffed him illegally.

Videotaping cops is not illegal.

The dog was not an issue until they attacked its master.

“We didn’t like what he was doing, therefore, we illegally restrained him” is not a valid moral or legal defense.

No crime was committed, from what I have read.

I don’t know what he’s been charged with...likely some sort of interfering with a police investigation or some such. His arrest was completely justified, as he was ordered several times to turn down the volume of his car stereo and refused, and he was clearly trying to provoke a confrontation.

You don’t know what he’s been charged with, per your own admission, but you’re still trying to spin his illegal arrest as being “justified”?
