It is a pivotal point in history where our Founders tried to make government and even liberals understand that government is NOT the source of our rights. It is as an important element as any other part of the Constitution.
Rights come from our Creator, and anyone would be free to define Creator in their own terms but is sure as hell is not government. Taking that word out is essential for the Progressive/communist/socialist infesting our country as then the Constitution can be INTERPRETED by the miscreants on the USiC in one of their brilliant 5-4 political hack decisions.
Because people don’t care or don’t pay attention, this most critical element of our foundation no longer exists.
Even here on the FR you will see people write “well I read the constitution and there is nothing written about xyz... Well of course you morons, the Constitution defines and limits GOVERNMENT and only bestows a very few rights the founders felt the people should render to the government.
Thank you public schools for destroying a simple yet utterly brilliant concept which was the cornerstone of our foundation.
We are now living in the former soviet union mindset where our rights only come from government.
This is not about a beer commercial but about something which if not reversed should be a revolutionary call to action.
Railing against a beer commercial’s misquote of the DoI cheapens the argument from where I sit. Our elected, uh, leaders would be a better place to start. JMO.
