Less than a month after Will Smiths After Earth crashed at the box office, Sony finds itself in another predicament with Roland Emmerichs White House Down.
The $150 million action thriller, starring Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx, is the studios most expensive film of the summer but may debut as poorly as fourth place this weekend with a projected $27 million.
Not only are the early estimates soft for a project Sony bought in a record spec deal for $3 million in 2012, its actually worse than this years other White House thriller, Olympus Has Fallen, which opened to $30.8 million for FilmDistrict on a much smaller budget ($70 million).

Sucked jaw hen. That’s a new one for me.
Apparently Foxx hasn’t been watching the “star witness” for the prosecution at the Zimmerman trial.
It depends on what sort of talent you’re talking about.
I read the book, and I could not help comparing the two. As a standalone action flick it was good.
If you read the book, just tell yourself you are going to a zombie movie and you will be fine.
Overall, I would give WH Down about a six. WWZ would rate a 7.5. So not bad. There will be a sequel.
Defund Hollywood - quit paying for their product.
Auto correct trying to figure out slang sometimes sucks jaw hen.
For those who dont recall, Foxx is the man who recently told us that we should honor our lord and savior Barack Obama.
Im dressed in all black, cause its good to be black. Black is the new white! Foxx began in his opening monologue.
The really curious comments came soon after:
I got a new movie coming out, Django, check it out Django Unchained, I play a slave. How black is that? In the movie, I have to wear chains. How whack is that? But dont be worried about it, because I get out [of] the chains, I save my wife, and I kill all the white people in the movie. How great is that? And how black is that?

I will NEVER EVER patronize another Jamie “Our lord and savior Barack Obama” and “I got to kill all the white people” Foxe film the rest of my days.
F**K him!
Only if he gets it in the end.
I care what his politics are. You don’t go to movies if the industry funds and fervently seeks to propagandize for your enemies. At least you shouldn’t.
until we have a president, there will be no interest in the white house
I thought people might flock to see the Oval Office destroyed twice in one movie.
lol
I liked White House Down, even with the tired gratuitous shot at right wing extremists as the villans. Worth the money. Better than Olympus Has Fallen. Foxx and Tatum are both excellent in this film.
I also saw World War Z, and want my money back.
I think Obama 'gets it in the end'...
(Alternative porn title for this turkey? "Occupier of the The White House Goes Down")
Public doesn’t want to see the same movie twice in three months. It’s basically the same movie (Die Hard in the White House) as Olympus Has Fallen which opened in March.
Wow! Meanwhile, Obama targets the TEA Party, subverts the 2012 election, spies on Americans without warrants, wants to drone Americans on US soil without warrants (TY Rand Paul and Ted Cruz), loses the an Ambassador on 9/11, refuses to send in the military to protect America while she is being attacked..and Hollywood demonizes conservatives and the military. I refused to see that Ben Afflack movie, Sum of All Fears, because Hollywood changed the Muslim terrorists to South African white guys and I refuse to see this one. Screw both the bigoted Jamie Foxx and Hollywood.
sounds like a remake of “Seven Days in May”...
Wow, you seem really angry, do you have an investment in the picture?
No....I wish. lol. I am sick and tired of the lies and distortions about movies that people didn’t even see. I REFUSE to take any FREEPERS’ suggestions on movies because I made that mistake ONCE when they were begging me to go see Christmas Carol. Like a dumba$$, I went and it was the WORST mistake of my life. Every single movie is picked a part but the very movie they should have picked apart was An American Carol. But no just because it had a few Hollywood Republicans in it, they bragged about how great the movie was.....Now they would never brag because they suddenly had an epiphany that it sucked like I did at the very moment I walked out of the theater with wasted money on a crappy movie. I would go to White House Down 50 times before going to An American Carol again.
Well, what *did* you expect? Waters has been an outspoken socialist his entire career. Yet he never appears on stage or in public without sporting one of his many Rolex watches. I am particularly fond of this nice Submariner.
At least Gilmore put his money where his mouth is and gave a huge chunk of his fortune away.
You're not alone though. Pearl Jam is one of my favorite bands but if someone punched Eddie Vedder in the mouth, I'd applause. And then I'd still go see them the next time they came to town.
saw the trailers and said to myself....’nope no way am I going to pay to watch that.’
