We’re planning on walking the Mall sometime on the 3rd, so I assume (?) we’ll see everything on the Mall?

"well see everything on the Mall?"There's a lot of stuff there for just one day.
If you've got wheels, Mt. Vernon is quite interesting. The Naval Academy in Annapolis is also worth a trip.

The Korean War Memorial is down towards the Lincoln Memorial (west) end of the mall and on the other side of the reflecting pool from the Viet Nam wall. Depending on which museums you decide to go to, there will be a lot of walking, but if you're going to take in the Lincoln and Viet Nam wall, you'll be in the right area for the Korean Memorial.
I'd choose which ever museum(s) you decide to visit, allocating yourself the better part of a day for each one.

Natural History museum is not to be missed. Air and Space, and American History museum are pretty good too.
