This Glucerna looks good = “Hunger Smart Shake”. I’ll get some of these for sure. Walmart might have a limited number of types, but if they don’t have this one, drug stores should.
With all do respect, I still think Glucerna has too many carbs - 27g in a shake to be exact, 6g of which are sugar & it contains fructose.
If you really want a low-carb, low-sugar shake, try Atkins shakes. Of course the hospital kept Glucerna at your husband’s bedside.....they probably have a contract with Abbott.
Once I saw a poster with diabetic meal plans on it. It was the “exchange” program....it told people with diabetes how much carbs they could eat at each meal. Amazingly, it allowed for a piece of white toast at breakfast & a small serving of pasta at lunch. In the bottom corner in teeny tiny print was a “brought to you by Eli Lilly” Lilly is the largest manufacturer of insulin, so of course they want their diabetics eating carbs! They want to keep them insulin dependent!!!
