Heads up, Saturday night race! Camping World tomorrow night, Nationwide Friday night.

Saturday night race. Don’t forget to change your drivers!
I don’t think I saw any neat car threads this week...
And the Tour de France starts this weekend. Wonder what this year will be like, what the talk and gossip will be.
THX for da ping
Yup, thanks. So distracted this year I didn’t know ‘twas a Saturday night race. Appreciate the ping.
Hey tubebender! It a Saturday nite race! It’s gonna be hot in your home town too. That is all.
Luv me some racing under the lights.
Mtnclimber! Get your flotation devices ready. I heard Norm is going to initiate the emergency protocols for a poodle pool party this weekend due to the coming heat wave. Here’s a tip: he’ll only allow items that float in the pool - no sinking chairs or benches will be allowed.
I bet Moosechelle 0bama would float!
I can quickly think of a half dozen responses but I’m sure the you know what is monitoring this so.....I don’t wanna be audited again much less go to the pokie.
Thanks. I got shellacked with turpentine last week. Good Grief!
:^)
RR
Don’t want to point out why Janet Napolitano and a few San Fran bull dykes could not displace all the water in Norm’s pool?
Speaking of pokies I’ll come visit you.
Are you getting any of the coming heat wave in the West? We’re supposed to be in the 90’s for the next week; 90’s are unusual as we normally average 83-53 during this time of the year. Got back home yesterday - just in time for a Steve Miller concert tonight at the amphitheater.
Yes, it is hot here too. Looks like I am going to be travelling to Colorado Springs frequently for the next year. Don’t want to put all those miles on the S6 so I have been looking around for a second car that is comfortable to drive and that is lower cost so that I don’t care so much about racking up all those miles. The Toyotsa 4Runner gives me back problems after long distances so I need something with good lumbar support. I can get a good deal on the 2013 closeouts on MB C300 so that is what I am leaning toward. Got to look at checking acct balance to see if I need to transfer some funds.
My Tacoma kills my back and after being T-boned in my old Tacoma and waking up in the hospital again, I didn't feel safe driving my Odyssey van any more, so I traded the van for a new Outback.
My new Outback will go most of the place my TRD Off Road Tacoma will go and may be better on ice and snow than the truck is, but gets much better gas mileage, is much larger inside, especially headroom and also backseat leg room, is the best all around "you name it" hauler I've ever had and the driver's seat is MUCH more comfortable than my truck's.
I'm at the age where I really should have a new, red sports car and a 20something girlfriend, but screwed up I bought the Outback instead. Crazy thing is, I am very happy with it. YMMV
I think the Subaru cars are well-made. Problem is that around Boulder, CO I think they come with 0bama bumper stickers pre installed. I would not be able to convince my wife to ride in it. An old 1997 4Runner works fine for hauling dogs or firewood. My wife does not bounce off the ceiling if it gets dirty inside.
I got a MB C300 today. It had been a demo car and has 2,500 miles on it. But it has the premium package with really nice AMG instruments and pretty much all options. The dealerships are dumping the 2013 models, especially the demo models since the 2014 models are coming in. It is a “Certified” MB car and has the warranty bumped up from 5 year 50K mi warranty to a 6 year (from 6 months ago) and 100K mi warranty. And I got $8K knocked off MSRP making it less expensive than the mid-grade 2013 4Runners I had been looking at. It has almost half the horsepower of the Audi S6 I just got, but I think it is good for a long didtance commuter car.
I also congratulate you on having married well and I understand her reaction.
It's a surprisingly capable, comfortable, all-weather machine that has definitely figured out snow and ice, and should be as common as any pickup truck in a lot of the country.
So, it's too bad the Subaru Outback especially, along with some of their other cars, suffers from a certain segment of the population's loyalty, but it is what it is.
And it, in no way, handles as nicely or with that Euro feel like your C300. Enjoy!
The 4Runner is named Beyonce. Have not thought of names for the Audi S6 or the MB C300 yet. But, my checking account is temporarily named Jim Neighbors because after buying two cars for cash in a month my bank account is light in the loafers!
I don't envy your commute, but I definitely like your commuter. Beats the hell out of a Smart Car!
