If it were only a language thing, Canada or Australia would not present much of a problem. There are a few inconsistencies in the doctrine of self defense (i.e., no equivalent guarantee comparable to the Second Amendment), and there have been some more paralyzing applications of restrictions of speech, association, and to some extent, assembly. There is also the troubling fact that increasingly, their policy in regards to Islamic immigration borders on surrender to an invasion.

The concept of a nation of laws, united behind shared beliefs, and inspiring individual initiative, while recognizing achievement, seems to be fading in the consciousness of a growing number of the human population on this planet. It would not be difficult to envision a dystopia, or a plethora of dystopias, being the future of the world.

The American Experiment was great while it lasted. But extinction looms, and nothing much seems to be there to take up the flame.

My proposal (which seems to have little chance of being put into action) is for the portions of the territory once known as “the United States of America” that were designated as “red” districts on the most recent electoral maps, split off from the “blue” districts. The “red” district has the advantage of being almost contiguous across the territory, while the “blue” districts are badly fragmented. The “blue” districts would be allowed to set up whatever kind of cockamamie set of rules they want to live under, while the “red” district would return to application of the founding documents, the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution, with certain of the Amendments deleted (16th, 17th, 18th and 21st).

Then a very firm immigration policy to the “red” district would be set up, and citizenship would have to be reaffirmed upon reaching the age of majority, before being allowed to exercise the franchise of voting.

Nowhere. This is our story and we’re stuck with it.

I agree with you that we are mortally ill, but I don’t think there is another nation on this planet to which we can escape. I prefer to do what Bill Whittle suggests: retreat to the countryside, connect with like-minded people, lead a more simple life, and preserve a knowledge of what was great about America. We can create an entire subculture of conservatives.

The monks of the Middle Ages laboriously wrote to each other, preserving classical scholarship and discussing their faith. Others preserved or advanced art and literature. They kept the knowledge of civilization alive so that when mankind was ready once again to be reborn, the structure was there; no one had to re-invent the wheel of civilization.

We must do the same. Even if America falls into a new Dark Age, we must pass on our knowledge to those who come after us. There were universities and artists and writers and travelers during the Dark Ages, and life went on. We can do the same. Someday another Renaissance may come, unless the Lord returns before then. Let us be ready in either case.

A good question and I think very well reasoned. I was content to just read the reply’s as I usually do - but as you put a good effort Into it - I thought I would tell you of what I have found.
I’ve been searching for about 6 years now for a place to escape to, to raise my family as I see fit - and to live free - and last year I believe I have found that place right here in America. I was so intrigued about this location that last summer I took a job there for 12 weeks just to really be sure.
It’s hard enough to get to that most would pass it by - if they even know its there. And in a full blown collapse would be completely isolated.
Firearms freedom is intact - shall issue, open carry, and kids with guns walking down the road to shoot squirrels is normal. There is 1 law enforcement officer - part time - when he’s not manning the pizza station. Seat belts, and being of driving age is something he doesn’t concern himself with, and cruising around with friends and some beers are ok as long as your not being dangerous.
There is a lot more on the positive side - and some negatives (my 14 year old social diva daughter will tell you). But my point is - there are places, and you do not have to be a foreigner in another country to find them.
Good luck to you FRiend

It seems to me that if you don’t want to be an American anymore, you somehow get elected as President under the false pretense of being an American and live at the White Crib. Best example I can think of.

Belize. Costa Rica. New Zealand. Switzerland. Some of these you will need significant cash in order to become a resident.

Fred Reed (fredoneverything.net) is fond of Mexico, despite its current state.

Costa Rica or Panama.

They openly embrace Americans coming to live and work and will grant practically immediate visas.

Costa Rica.

There are reportedly 3 million U.S. ex-pats there.

The problem is that those people are busy wrecking it for everybody else and the IRS follows you everywhere you go, even if you renounce your citizenship.

Everyone’s answer will have to be different.

Look up. Pray. You can afford to make a few mistakes if God is with you; you cannot afford to make this kind of decision without taking him with you.

Some of us will be called to ride out the storm; some will be called to get our families to safe haven. Only God knows which is you and where that is for you.

In either case its not really about you as I suspect you already know. In either case you will have to be there for the folks who are counting on you.

I’m in complete agreement, but rather than flee, why not stay and fight? Of course, somebody has to start the revolution, and nobody seems willing to do that.
All that has gone wrong, we have permitted. The people whom we revere as the Founding Fathers, did not flee or shrink from fighting.
That’s why we had the nation we now haven’t the guts to defend and preserve.

I’ll stick it out here. If it hits the fan, I’ll go back to the woods in a county with 20,000 people and away from the priority areas for the feds.
