In the realm of sport ($1 to RINO Romney), those are two stirring words.
And in just a few hours, the San Antonio Spurs have a shot at redemption after frittering away what should have been a slam dunk for a fifth NBA title and a deserved crowning of a dynasty.
Game six is still fresh in my mind. Not only Tuesday's collapse when the Spurs were up by 5 with 20 seconds left. Yet another game six is still painful for this Texan. That of course was the 107th World Series when the Rangers were two strikes away -- TWICE -- from claiming the prize. Similarly, San Antonio was just two free throws away -- TWICE -- from beating the Heat on their own floor.
It seemed inevitable. Miami fans were streaming for the exits for what appeared to be a fait accompli. Even the Larry O'Brien trophy was being wheeled down the hall for the postgame ceremony and the certain Spurs celebration.
But, like 2011, 2013 a game six was the dagger for two Texas teams.
Can the Spurs bounce back? The series has been a sequence of alternating win-lose. And the arrow now points in San Antonio's direction. But after the crushing defeat of just two days ago, it will be a miracle to overcome the home floor advantage and the momentum now clearly on Miami's side.
Couldn’t care less. But you enjoy.
Just another reason to hate these douche bags
My response during the commercial break was prompted by your phrasing of "couldnt care less". So few get that right and I appreciate it the idiom used correctly.
Odds of Miami (the city) going up in flames tonight?
look again...dem Spurs ain’t quittin
They had it all stacked up in game six. Sigh.
100%.
The NBA got their wish...thanks refs.
LeBron and Co, are still all ghetto trash...and that also goes for that White Freak Anderson.
Even though the Spurs aren't the home team, this is like reliving 2011 all again. I'll tread carefully here since Mark Cuban is hated here on FR but his commentary does express it well.
Stanley Cup Finals are much better than watching thugball, anyway.
The cHEAT are ghetto trash..I already changed the channel, seeing that Obama kiss asser LeBron get another ring, sickening..and hey the Birdman gets a ring, guess there is hope for all drug addicts and pedophiles out there, even they can get a championship ring
Spurs won the title two days ago and refs took it from them.
To hell with the NBA and the overated, too-much-on-them-to-lose Miami Heat. This game was as predictable as the sun coming up in the morning. No way in hell Miami would be allowed to lose. The NBA is as crooked as wrestling.
That's a good idea. Since I have no rooting interest, I can just watch and enjoy the NHL finals. It's much like CFB when UCLA and USC play -- just hope it's a good game.
One big difference. The Rangers loss in 2011, as bad as it had to hurt, at least was to a classy organization steeped in tradition.
and get that fat know nuthin woman the hell outta dodge
Thanks for the thread and the ping. Spurs came close but the Heat was just too hot.
I can’t even stand the NBA anymore, and I loved it growing up. Hardly watched any games this year...because I knew the NBA mandated the Heat would win.
Joey Crawford was the ref for game 6, NUFF SAID..Stern is like a mafia boss, he tells them what to do and they do it..but even after all the rigging, the Spurs beat themselves..Manu was just garbage..dude should just retire already..and Danny Green came down to earth, from having 2 good games to totally disappearing when it counted
You're welcome. It's the least I can do since you provide we Texans with such excellent music choices on our local board.
Well, there is some solace. Florida has Marco Rubio and we have Ted Cruz. Still, I would have enjoyed eating some crow tonight.
David Stern is a Commie pig, back in Feb he said that “Every team should have a chance to win the title” sounded like Obama with his “Spread the wealth around” comment..guess Stern wants to spread the championships around, but he wants his butt buddy LeBron to get a few more..the NBA has been rigged for a long time..what Donaghy said in his book was 100 percent accurate and if people think he was the only crooked ref I got a bridge to sell them
