In the realm of sport ($1 to RINO Romney), those are two stirring words.
And in just a few hours, the San Antonio Spurs have a shot at redemption after frittering away what should have been a slam dunk for a fifth NBA title and a deserved crowning of a dynasty.
Game six is still fresh in my mind. Not only Tuesday's collapse when the Spurs were up by 5 with 20 seconds left. Yet another game six is still painful for this Texan. That of course was the 107th World Series when the Rangers were two strikes away -- TWICE -- from claiming the prize. Similarly, San Antonio was just two free throws away -- TWICE -- from beating the Heat on their own floor.
It seemed inevitable. Miami fans were streaming for the exits for what appeared to be a fait accompli. Even the Larry O'Brien trophy was being wheeled down the hall for the postgame ceremony and the certain Spurs celebration.
But, like 2011, 2013 a game six was the dagger for two Texas teams.
Can the Spurs bounce back? The series has been a sequence of alternating win-lose. And the arrow now points in San Antonio's direction. But after the crushing defeat of just two days ago, it will be a miracle to overcome the home floor advantage and the momentum now clearly on Miami's side.
Ping...with less than an hour before tipoff.
Oh and hearing Mike Breen orgasm whenever LeBron scores..BANG..YUCK!!!!! I think Mavericks Fans remember how Stern screwed them over in 2006 so that the Heat could win the championship..it was also to make sure that Shaq got a ring before Kobe since Stern despises Kobe and the Lakers..I am looking forward to seeing that Communist schmuck David Stern gone as NBA Commish and he can take his crony refs with him, especially Joey Crawford, you know when he is refereeing a game someone’s gonna get screwed
The one and only thing good about the 2011 World Series is that it temporarily erased from my mind the miserable crash in game 3 of the NBA Finals of 2006 when that 13-point lead vanished and the hometown fans booing the Heat suddenly became elated. To this day, a few of us blame Mayor Laura Miller for her weaufing and the audacity of planning a victory parade.
Nelson Cruz, above.
That game was a fix and I knew it the moment it was happening..reminded me of the series when the Lakers played Detroit for the NBA Title, such an obvious fix..Stern knew if we lost Shaq would leave, Phil would leave and the Lakers would not be the Lakers for a long time..you always know the fix is happening when a player can’t even look at the opposing team player without being called for a foul. You can’t even breathe on LeBron without being called for a foul
I’m pulling for the Spurs but I think the Heat will win the game easily. The Spurs missed their chance Teusday.
Felons shooting a ball. No thanks.
Guess it is better than shooting people.
The last time the road time has won game 7 in the NBA finals was 35 years ago per the ABC announcer.
MF the Trayvon lovers.......Go Spurs!
Just think of them as the Dallas Chaparrals.
Amen, if Mister Robinson is a thug, our nation needs a few million more like him.
Tim Duncan a felon? Somehow I don’t think felon when I think Tim Duncan.
Dang, and here I thought I cut my eye teeth on Usenet!
I think I'll head to bed now, just like I did in game 6.
Go Spurs!
52 all!
Miami is just shooting jumpers obviously you’re not gonna get calls if you’re not attacking.
This game is only to distract us from the important stuff like immigration, NSA and other stuff. Ignore it!
