Here's my new Ford truck. After owning my Chevy for 17yrs and the fact Ford didn't take any taxpayer bailout money, it was time to make the switch. Any other Freepers own a F150 truck? If so, thoughts?

Nice rig F1Joe.....I too have a Jeep (92 Wrangler that’s just visible in front of my new truck) with just over 100K original miles that needs a little work...think it’s an issue with the injectors.
Congrats, I have a 2006 F150. Good pickup.

I like it LV...oh, the good ole days!
I love it!
I would never buy a GM (gov motors) vehicle now :-(
This is a great vanity post! I hope you inspire others to avoid GM.
It’s an 85 CJ-8 (Scrambler) w/ Mickey Thompson’s. Originally a gubbmint vehicle on the campus of Clemson University.
Since I lost my garage privileges, it’s become a bit of a rust bucket due to the FL salt air and a block from the beach (it’s gonna need body work soon), but I still love it. It still turns some heads, for sure.
Whenever I complain about it, guys just say “It’s a Jeep”...sort of sums it up.
I’m still doin the old chevys.
Newest are early 90’s.
They have forward/backward compatibility with engines, transmissions, transfer cases, bla bla that puts Ford to shame. Straight up, and I aint helpin any union dudes.
Its all backwoods aftermarket.
Yep, being close to the water and that salty air does no justice to a vehicle. I guess the same can be said about living in states where it snows a lot. Salt is brutal stuff to say the least.
Fortunately, I live in San Jose and far enough from the coast (about an hr) so no worries here.
Take care of that baby- she’s a bute!
Great vid- I LOVE IT!
Good for you. I have an old Ford Escape I am driving into the ground and I love it. One of the best vehicles I ever owned. What you have there is exactly what I have in mind for my next vehicle. Where I am, 4-wheel drive is a must, and Ford has always had REAL 4WD, not that fake “all wheel drive” most of the rest are selling.
That is darn near Corvette territory, where at least you might be able to see some technology your $$ is buying.
But $50k for a freaking pickup truck???
Same here, 97 extra cab two wheel drive long bed 3 quarter ton with large topper for work.
96 regular cab 4X4 long bed 3 quarter ton for trash haul, and spare for work. Both have over 150,000 and are very reliable.
Can’t justify the expense for new. with the economy the way it is and me already over the age of normal retirement.
Kevin,
I hate to burst your bubble, but Ford Credit took 40 Billion of the TARP money.

Found On Road Dead
First On Race Day, until Chrysler and GM blew them out of the water!!
My partner and I held the SCTA D roadster record of 154 until Voight and Colb showed up at Bonneville with a De Soto and went 176. Sold the flathead roadster in 55 for $650!
yes. if a leftist zigs, we zag. kudos to you.
i got my F150 4 years ago and it has been a joy to own.
Nice truck.. My husband and my Dad always swore by Fords... they both used their trucks to work out of and hubby in particular use to load his truck down with pretty heavy loads and it took the abuse and came through. Paid the rent and put dinner on the table.
You can keep them going for decades.
I’m stalled at the TBI/Vortec stage of Cheveolet, and my best most reliable stuff still has carbs with HEI’s, but I’m not above dropping in a points distributor if we have an EMP attack.
Old Chevys Rock!
