so they do it with round knobs too?

So you would say that this is not intentionally going for a handle but just sliding around on the door and it accidentally turns the knob?

Yes, they do it with knobs just as easily as with levers. The snake can sense the air coming from under and around the door and knows it’s best way of escaping the room is to get to the other side. Not finding a way under, they climb. My roommate’s snake would slither up the jamb, wrapping itself around the knob and in doing so it would turn releasing the door just as you see in this video. It was also very adept at escaping its cage so we never knew where it was in the house. My GF would never again enter the house once she learned of this. :-)

Nope.

To this day, Alice constantly fiddles with his new _escape proof_ ~round~ lock, hoping to repeat his adventures in the walls.

It is not ‘accidental’.

It is intentional, willful and they apparently *never* forget their successes.
