Take it easy, Im the Police.
****
Note the attitude: “It doesn’t matter that a child is in pain; you shouldn’t be angry at me, I’m a government employee.”
Posters who are upset at the father and relative for attacking the officer should consider how they would react if it was their daughter/granddaugthter/niece/female relative bleeding after being struck by a government employee’s vehicle.

I wouldn’t start beating on the guy until he was about to lose consciousness. If the officer’s story is true, he nothing wrong.
The attitude is simple. When an accident occurs, the reaction should not be to physically attack the other party. He was trying to get the father to not attack him. He failed. After taking a spill from a several hundred pound bike at speed, I'm sure he was in no shape to hold off multiple attackers with his bare hands. So he reached for his gun.
I think I would try to help my child instead.
BS.
You should have done more research before starting the thread. Your initial post also blames the cop.
The cop tried to miss the girl then offered aid, dad comes along and with the help of the 18 year old cousin starts punching and kicking the crap out of the officer who was attending to his injured daughter while the cop himself was already suffering from a broken arm and broken leg.
