So a little girl is victimized twice---first hit, then loses her father.
Guess she was protected and served. :(

Very tragic and perhaps police abuse but what is a 4 year old girl doing running across a busy street at 10:30 PM?

Pity no dashcam. IF he was attacked by several men, that certainly changes things.

I keep thinking of the scene in "V for Vendetta" when the fascist police see a little girl spray paint a wall. They approach. She runs. They shoot her in the back.
And suddenly the crowd of complacent sheeple turn and start walking toward the cops. And the cops hold up their badges to cow the people.
And the people keep walking toward the cops. Because suddenly things are different.
To: Altariel
The Chicago Police Department really is nothing but another street gang with fancy cars and badges.

Why is the father’s reaction focused on confrontation instead of first aid?
This is a sad story, but it illustrates the continued breakdown of civil society perfectly.
Everyone is angry, all the time. It’s going to get much worse.

This is an occasional problem in poor black neighborhoods. If you're a white motorist passing through a dangerous black neighborhood and accidentally hit someone, you will need to make a split second decision on whether to make your way to the nearest police station or stick around and risk being killed by irate neighborhood residents. If this cop hadn't been armed, he might have been
maimed or beaten to death. He was probably injured taking a spill from his motorcycle and likely had no alternative to shooting his assailants, especially given that he was outnumbered 2 to 1 and additional help for those assailants was probably in the process of materializing.

Really? Is this Chicago?
Why does anyone post stories about Chicago? Nobody with a brain gives a tinkers fart who does what, who gets killed in Chicago.

The headline is a fraud, as most are.
The cop did what he had to do, but wonders if a little less force would have subdued the guy just as well as shooting him dead.

I'm having a difficult time with some of the posts on this thread.
Bottom line: if this was a private citizen (not a cop) who performed the EXACT SAME actions, you'd be calling the father a thug for attacking the motorcycle rider. Then you'd give the shooter kudos for exercising his G-d given 2A rights.
Some of you people are capable of being despicable hypocrites.
