Why is the father’s reaction focused on confrontation instead of first aid?
This is a sad story, but it illustrates the continued breakdown of civil society perfectly.
Everyone is angry, all the time. It’s going to get much worse.

Fight or Flight is a very human response to high stress, high tension scenarios.
Probably “take it easy, I’m the police” was too much provocation for the father at that juncture.
