I personally have no use for doggie doors. Not only did a burglar get into the home featured in the story; but other critters can make their way in as well. I know someone whose friend lost their two Jack Russell terriers when a pitbull (or two) came into their doggie door (after jumping their fence) while they were out and killed the two dogs.

I let my dog out when he needs to go out. He does not need his own door.

I have a friend that was house sitting this girls house in Ftlaud and had a pet door for the “Kitty”.

We went there one day and opened the door and about 5 cats ran out and the place was cat piss/spray heaven.
She freaked when she got home.no more kitty door.

I absolutely agree on the NO DOGGIE DOOR! I know a person and a drunk/stoned woman entered through her doggie door. People across the street had a rabid possum enter through their doggie door. We have all kind of critters here and I don't want ANY of them in my house. I have 4 house dogs and sometimes it is inconvenient when I have to come home and let them out but I still do it.
