Whether this latest scandal gets "resolved" or not, the cat is out of the bag - NONE of our private information is private. And with increasingly intricate and advanced technologies emerging, we can only expect the situation to get much, MUCH worse. They just won't tell us the next time, and simply "disappear" anyone who quits his classified government job.
I've always suspected that we would eventually have to again embrace low-tech methods of communication to combat government fascism such as we're now seeing. Notes in archaic or obscure languages, codes and other unsuspected methods are going to, out of necessity, come back into use by true, constitutional Americans. It will be inefficient, but will give us good practice for when the entire networked infrastructure completely collapses.
Speaking of confusing Morse, one of the techniques was to switch up dashes and dots on a known boundary.
The larger the purchase, the more the transaction is scrutinized. Daily small amount won't be a problem.
Any amount over $10 MUST be reported, though.
Just damn.
I was creating "a country burqa look" and you popped my balloon.
I am looking into a HAM radio setup at the house, along with learning classical Greek, which I think should be the new official language of the New Republic.
+++++++++++
LOL. Using HF and Greek would virtually guarantee you a spot in the NSA archives. They have listening posts all over the world and on most Navy ships.
If you ran a computer with no harddrive and ran off a linux live disc the computer itself wouldn’t save anything for them to find later.
Pakistan, lol
LOL!! Good suggestion. Just wanted a language with a different, obscure alphabet.
I use cash as much as possible because I have had my debit card numbers stolen many times. Sucks to get caught with out money when you are out of town because so jerk in Bahrain is spending your money.
If asked why you are using cash that is your reason right there. I need to ensure that I have money for gas to get to work so I keep a reserve at home is what you tell the government. In my case it is a truthful statement.
Not to mention that if there is a run on banks like they had in Europe you can eat and drive.
I read useing common names online ie:
John, Mike, Jane, Dick, Sam etc.....instead of some kooky name easily that stands out will at least slow them down having to go thru so many.
I once worked with a young Pakistani fellow. He told me virtually any kind of hacker or pirate software your heart desires could be bought at bazaars there.
PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) is a strong 2048 bit (4096 bit avail) encryption that would keep the government computers and the Chinese busy for a hundred years at least. The name “Pretty Good” belies its efficacy.
Rather simple to use for your e-mails and internally stored documents.
It is there for your use and you only have yourself to blame if you don’t use it.
It’s true that the commercial data miners use the “metadata” from your card purchases to learn all about you. It’s OK to buy groceries or change your oil with a card, but certainly make all purchases of “other” items in cash if possible. Things that you don’t want them to know about.
Well, I suppose I can drag out an old x86 computer and 56k modem and set up a FR BBS secure from the NSA’s prying eyes. We’re going to need an “ANSI Art Sandbox” thread though.
:) I’d like to learn Hebrew. I think it’s the language of Heaven anyway, might as well learn it now.
Yep...John Smith here too...Maybe better Jane Doe.
