Is it Time for All Good Americans to go Low Tech Once Again?
Self | 06/17/13 | fwdude

Whether this latest scandal gets "resolved" or not, the cat is out of the bag - NONE of our private information is private. And with increasingly intricate and advanced technologies emerging, we can only expect the situation to get much, MUCH worse. They just won't tell us the next time, and simply "disappear" anyone who quits his classified government job.

I've always suspected that we would eventually have to again embrace low-tech methods of communication to combat government fascism such as we're now seeing. Notes in archaic or obscure languages, codes and other unsuspected methods are going to, out of necessity, come back into use by true, constitutional Americans. It will be inefficient, but will give us good practice for when the entire networked infrastructure completely collapses.

Done all that but the solar. On my house I did not do the flat work, excavating or the tile work, but did all the rest. I did do the lay out and the ground work for the excavating though.

I believe it! You cannot escape Big Brother now anymore than we could years ago. Even the guys who work with people that need protection say they cannot hide them completely...because they can’t.

There’s very few places we go to day that doesn’t have a camera on you. Banks, gas stations, hotels, hospitals, lobbys everywhere...even your ATM and often that’s a thief wanting to get at your cash. They can be across the street and still see your pin number.

I was reading recently about developments where you can use an I-phone to take your medical readings for various tests such as blood work, insulin levels etc....rather than having to go to a facility.... Imagine how “controlling” that’s going to be when it comes on the market!

Good work. In my opinion, tomorrow will belong to those, who are hard working and technically inclined.

On the solar stuff, using electricity from the power grid makes more economic sense for most people. If I were in the suburbs, I probably wouldn’t do it. I’m not fortunate enough to be close to any power company hookup, though (miles away). But installing such a system ourselves, if components are chosen wisely, can keep the cost pretty low. And it deprives local busybodies (investors with incomes from Uncle Samantha) of a resource (debt/revenues) often used to make more trouble (regulations, etc.). If I were in the suburbs, I would do whatever else possible to cut personal energy costs. It’s part of the whole “Galt” thing.

Possibly because that was the first album of three they had recorded with Ronnie James Dio singing. The name of the album is Heaven and Hell.

I knew it wasn’t Ozzy, as he has a very distinct voice. Dio has a great voice. I think he died a couple of years ago. Thanks for the info, and I think you’re right as to why I never heard it.

Rock and metal should be predominant, because it requires talent to write and play. No talent required making something on computer.

I over built my house when I built it 18 years ago. People thought I was crazy for spending as much as I did on upgrades. Funny that two years after the plumbing inspector ridicule me for upgrading the plumbing the upgrades became code. They are just now wanting to increase the r-values to meet what I used. My utilities are cheap, and I have long since paid off the extra cost of the upgrades. Nothing like heating a house for $75 when the temps are below 0 for weeks on end.

Do share any links if you have any. I have endocrine problems and require regular bloodwork.

Thinking about going low tech south of the equater, year round growing season and living expenses about $400 a month. I can not afford to retire in the states.

It’s only in development stages and I saw it on foreign news station so I can’t get you info...but you don’t want to use it when it is marketed...

My purpose for explaining it’s coming is to warn NOT to use it. If people are already upset about Obamacare...imagine what they can do using an I Phone for tests!

To be honest, I don’t see a problem if it’s directly connected to whatever local hospital, a specialist, or any of the many blood labs around the country, or world. Like I said, I have endocrine problems and require regular blood testing to make sure my levels are where they’re supposed to be.

Well as said..it’s being developed...to work with an I-Pad..or cellphone by laying the strip over the screen such as with a diabetic etc. and it will take the reading and send it I suspect to whatever hospital or Dr. you need.

But there again it’s creating dependency on technology..and if it goes down then what? One would need a back up I suppose.

Might be if you Google medical tests using an I-pad...it might come up..or something like it.
