Just thinking about getting a Dog, next thing I know I'm watching Youtube vids with Dogs...
The Duke had a good one

Any favorites?

I watched that Jodi Foster movie the other night.... Brave One. Toward the end she finds the bad guys, and one of them has her dog. Walks up behind... the guy turns around and says you want something. She says “I want my dog back”. then BANG.... Pretty good moment.
Sight hounds have their own quirks as do scent hounds. They have big hearts and are brave. They will defend you and your home, but are great with kids. They are more “doggy” dogs than some popular pet breeds, so they do have a bit of an odor and stereotypical dog behaviors are somewhat more pronounced. They do love their people, though, fiercely. Great animals, great working partners, great friends.
I don’t know about beagles, but relatives have had golden retrievers and bassets that smelled no matter how clean they were and even smelled up the whole house. Maybe it was because they were large male dogs?
"... and your little dog, too!"
Get a Lab, best dog in the world. Most gentle, loving, intelligent dog out there. (Sorry Golden Retriever people, I think they are are a little more goofy than labs, a close second tho)
A rescue lab 4 or 5 years old will love you like no other dog.
I have two doodles. They are fantastic animals. :)
I see old movies with dogs and old photos with dogs, and it’s oddly touching and moving. So much intense love and care on their part, such a desire to please, so little remembered for most, such a brief moment under the sun. It makes me think of all mine that have gone before me, and I hope they were held in the high regard that all of mine have been. Their time with us is too short, just way too short. Such a rarity in the world, that sort of bond. Not unusual at all with a beloved dog, though.
A great movie! Saw it for the first time in the last year or so. Interesting characters and the fun of watching a strange little dog out hunt the big champion and mystify experienced hunter-dog owners.
It’s a Dog’s Life (1955) MGM

Very cool movie.
A man has not a better friend!
Well maybe a few. But the American bull terrier is near the top.
And yes, she’s been my companion for the last 7 years
That’s what I instantly thought of.
That and the telepathic dog Blood from A Boy and his Dog. So you get to hear Tim McIntire voicing Blood’s part. Still my favourite Don Johnson movie, plus it had Jason Robards.
Freegards
Should’ve received a Best Supporting Actor Oscar!
You are soooooo baaad.ha.
“That movie ended without ever finding out whether “DOG” lived or died.”
“Dog” obviously lived, if he’d died they would have shown it
Thanks for sharing that.
Gotta love dogs.
