The TV industry is already imploding.
They cancelled/ended 38 series this season. Many of those were pulled after only a couple of episodes.

Perhaps the problem is Hollywood, in general, and the lack of original ideas.
Many years ago it was said there are only twenty eight basic plots for western TV shows.
Someone then asked....What are the other twenty six?
Lucy did all the possible domestic comedy plots on her TV show back in the 1950s.
Ever notice that the later Laverne and Shirley TV show used the same plots?
Ever notice that so many of today’s movies are based on old TV shows? Of course you have.
There is not an original idea in Hollywood.
