Edward Snowden, 29, a former CIA technical assistant and current employee of military contractor Booz Allen Hamilton, went to the Guardian and the Washington Post newspapers and spilled national security secrets that he had promised not to divulge. U.S. Ambassador John Bolton puts that effort in the proper perspective:

Look up "taqiyya" (sp?). It is permissible to lie for the advancement of Islam.
That fat chick in the red suit had my skin crawling, and now I have to look at Megyn Kelly with newly jaundiced eyes.
And now the ACLU is on my side! WTF, over?
The regime knows what is at the bottom, and wants it to stay there. He will disappear or have an "accident".
“Unit, Corps, God, Country” and arguments about the appropriate order of these priorities comes to mind.
That was a statement from the Daily Mail and pure speculation on the part of that news article.........
You really think that a Libertarian would actually defect to a communist country???????
Unless he's a Russian spy.
Well, he’s got the ACLU suing POSHITUS. Did anyone expect that?
Like.... the discovery phase?
I say give that kid a medal.
>It is likely such a possibility will be completely
>dismissed by those who see the NSA revelations in absolute
>terms, both on the Left and the Right. But what is needed
>is the balance that must be found between protecting
>American lives and protecting their rights.
If we “balance” security with defending the Constitution, then the terrorists have already won.

Amen! Soldiers swear an oath to follow orders yet get prosecuted for following “illegal” orders.
The two former NSA guys on Hannity said Snowden did us a service.
You’ve got that right. It is WAY to convenient. With today’s job market, how could a guy with a loser background like he has get a primo job like that while tons of highly qualified people get passed by. I’m not buy the story yet. Something is fishy.
When Benghazi unraveled they needed cover.
Then the IRS story was purposely leaked with a planted question as a distraction.
When the IRS story started to backfire due to it being a real scandal that people actually understood, they needed another distraction.
Now conveniently, the NSA scandal comes out. In every distraction Benghazi gets more and more distant.
This is too much like watching a magician’s right hand when we really should be watching his left.
I wonder if all these people who condemn Snowden for going to the Chinese would condemn a North Korean for going to the US. You go where you think you’ll be safe.
"Often the best source of information about waste, fraud, and abuse in government is an existing government employee committed to public integrity and willing to speak out. Such acts of courage and patriotism, which can sometimes save lives and often save taxpayer dollars, should be encouraged rather than stifled as they have been during the Bush administration. We need to empower federal employees as watchdogs of wrongdoing and partners in performance. I will strengthen whistleblower laws to protect federal workers who expose waste, fraud, and abuse of authority in government. " - Barack H. Obama, 2008

I’m not really concerned about whether this guy is a traitor or is not a traitor. Only that he made public some info that needed to come out and be known by the American citizenry.
Whatever supposed national security secrets he gave away were most likely known by our supposed ‘enemies’ already, having been given away by Clinton (Bill) and I’ve no doubt by Obama already as well.

What are you more upset about, this guy or the government’s horrific and unconstitutional abuses against citizens of the United States that he exposed????
